Biography:	It all started in 1969 when Caroll's young son brought home a pedigree chart that "just had to be filled out." After she filled in a few names and a very few dates, she knew she would have to look into this. Caroll was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and was named after Carole Lombard, Clark Gable's wife. Someone had big handwriting and my name came out with two L’s. She has been in Southern Nevada for 27 years. Caroll does adoption research by helping individuals look for their biological children and by helping adopted children find their biological parents. She also does all aspects of Internet genealogy and loves census records, the Rootsweb site, and many other sites. Caroll has served in the Family History Center for a number of years. Her director has her busy teaching several classes on the census records, researching obituary records, and how to use various websites. She breaks down those family history brick walls by gleaning information from newsletters published county history books, and published family books. Caroll has worked on a project in her town in Nye County, Nevada collecting all the obituaries and related stories back to the early 1800's. This information will be housed in three-ring binders and copies will be placed in the Family History Center and her local museum. Caroll's grandparents are of the Melungeon culture and are from Hancock county, Tennessee and Lee county, Virginia. She has spent a number of years researching these 2 counties and has searched for the surname, Osborne with all its spellings and for the Alder. Caroll still finds time for her family, including 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She loves quilting, gardening, and canning and drying.
