| BLOGGING: Getting the word out. DearMYRTLE is the nom de plume of Pat Richley, grandmother of 5 8/9, retired computer instructor and author of DearMYRTLE’s JOY OF GENEALOGY. Pat has been onlining since the winter of 1985, when she first signed on to Q-Link with a 300 baud (sloooow) modem using her Commodore 64 computer. Myrt was the first genealogist to do live internet radio streaming (Jan 2000 DearMYRTLE’s Family History Hour) and the first to switch to podcasting. Myrt’s goal is to provide practical, down-to-earth advice to family historians, with a focus on beginning and intermediate researcher challenges. |

| Ancestry.com for the Beginners Robert (Bob) Larson is an instructor on genealogy software and Internet subscription databases in Larimer County, Colorado. He's been teaching genealogy classes since 2003. He is currently Newsletter Editor for Larimer County Genealogical Society and also for Triplet Pearson-Pierson Society, a national family organization of which he is a board member. He is currently writing two family history books for release in late 2007 and 2009. He is a member of four regional genealogical societies and has been researching genealogy since 1999. |

| Cemeteries and Their Secrets Gena holds a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology and Womens's Studies) and a Master's degree in Religion. She previously worked in the fields of domestic violence and homelessness. Her interest in genealogy began as a child when her maternal grandmother would tell her stories of her ancestors and their lives. She is a professional genealogist, helping others research their family history. Gena teaches classes in genealogical basics, using social history and research techniques. She writes articles for the internet newsletter, GenWeekly, published by Genealogy Today. She is a member of such groups as the California State Genealogical Alliance, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Association of Professional Genealogists and several local genealogical societies. |

| The Least You Need to Know to Begin Genealogical Research LaRae Free Kerr, M. Ed., began speaking publicly when only a child. All three years of high school, she qualified for State Meets in Extemporaneous Speaking. She taught college level composition for 21 years in Idaho, California and Utah. While in Idaho, she wrote and performed essays for 3 ˝ years on the National Public Radio affiliate. She has participated in conferences in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, California and Nebraska. LaRae has been doing family history work - including researching, organizing reunions, writing and publishing articles and an award-winning book, and teaching - since she was fifteen years old. |
